In Celebration of Earth Day,
DOLORES RIVER FESTIVAL HOSTS:
AN EVENING OF FINE FILM, FRESH BEER, AND GREAT GEAR

In Celebration of Earth Day, the Dolores River Festival will host the Fourth Annual Great Outdoor Gear Silent Auction Fundraiser on Friday, April 18, 2008, at the Dolores Community Center on Riverside in Dolores. The highlight of this year’s event will be a screening of Mountainfilm on Tour, a compilation of award-winning films from the Telluride Mountainfilm Festival. Mountainfilm on Tour is dedicated to educating and inspiring audiences about issues that matter, cultures worth exploring, environments worth preserving, and conversations worth sustaining.
The silent auction will feature a vast selection of outdoor recreational gear and river gear from the finest outdoor companies, as well as many wonderful goods and services from local merchants. Arrive early to cast your bid! A ten dollar donation to Greater Dolores Action gets you in the door, and kids under 15 have free admission. All proceeds go toward the River Festival and river enhancement projects.
Refreshments will be provided by the Dolores River Brewery, featuring Dolores’ finest ales. Please join us for an evening of fine film, fresh beer and great gear. Bidding starts at 6 p.m. sharp and the films kick off at 6:30 Friday, April 18 at the Dolores Community Center.

About the Dolores River Festival
The Dolores River Festival, held annually on the first Saturday in June, is a community celebration of the Dolores River and the many ways it connects us to each other, the environment, and our resources. This family event features world-class live music, raft rides, kayak races, a river parade, and educational activities for all ages. The Dolores River Festival is a key Four-Corners area summer event. It draws attention to the Dolores River Basin and the challenges faced by local communities trying to balance economic development and riparian resource protection. Greater Dolores Action earmarks all sponsorship donations for festival funding and for river-enhancing activities such as garbage and debris removal, habitat creation and education – keeping your generous donation in the community. Your support of the Dolores River Festival shows your commitment to the preservation of one of the West’s great and scenic rivers.
